Tips/advice:
Remember to slow down to 15 m.p.h. in the school zone on Crafton Blvd. during school hours as indicated by the flashing warning lights. Always stop for school buses that have their red flashers on and stop sign activated. Penalties for passing a school bus are very costly; $450+ fine with costs/fees, 5 points on your license and a 60-day license suspension. Some of the buses are equipped with cameras to catch violators. School bus drivers are also able to make reports to the police department and citations have been filed for offenders based upon the bus driver’s report.
Please remember to report any suspicious activity, people or vehicles immediately by calling 911. Also do NOT provide any information to people over the phone that call you. This is a good reminder for those residents that have elderly family members and friends as they are far too often the targets and victims of these types of schemes. The same advice goes for emails and text-based communications. Do NOT provide any information to anyone that you are not 100% of who they are. If in doubt, end the conversation and contact the Crafton Police Department. An officer will assist you in looking into the matter and provide you with guidance.
